Careers In Market Research

16 February 2015 Joanna Byerley

January has come and gone! At Research Talent Hub we took a record number of new briefs and spoke to a wide range of candidates (old and new). It’s been a bumper month for everyone and many of you out there have either successfully secured the top available talent, or found a fabulous new position.

It’s also been a month of learning about the research and insight industry, especially for those candidates who are new to market research. Due to popular demand, we have decided to run a number of blog posts dedicated specifically to various research roles and specialisms for which we recruit. We will feature ‘real candidates’ in qualitative and quantitative research roles who can give you direct advice about getting into the market research industry and successfully climbing the ladder. We will discuss how the digital revolution is shaping new career paths in research and talk about exciting roles in social media intelligence.

We will refer you to the interesting articles published by MRS – the world’s leading research association. Market Research Society doesn’t need an introduction to majority of these who use, generate and interpret evidence. For those new to the UK’s market research scene (graduates or candidates relocating from overseas), it’s an excellent source of information on everything research related. MRS is the world’s leading authority on market research and business intelligence and is dedicated to supporting, promoting and enriching research and the business world. With members in more than 60 countries, MRS is a large organisation and has been supporting generations of research and insight professionals as they develop their careers.

Next week we will focus on making a distinction between market and social research and learning about the sectors, specialisms and the type of positions that will suit Graduate level candidates. Have a great Monday everyone and happy learning!
